OHSR s. 3.27 JHSC New Member Training
A. Committee members receive annual training. Information on these training sessions will be emailed to OHS site committees.
B. New committee members are required to complete 8 hours of training within the first 6 months on a committee. This requirement is fulfilled by completing both 1 and 2 below.
1. WorkSafe BC online e-learning component: This online course provides two of the required eight hours of training for new joint health and safety committee members.
2. Employers' Advisers Office, four online 90-minute webinars that may be completed in any order.

WC Act s.41 JHSC Annual Training - Oct 25 & Nov 3
The Workers Compensation Act section 41(1) allows each member of a JHSC to annual educational leave totally 8 hours.
SD22 is hosting 4 hours of annual training on two separate days (Oct 25 and Nov 3, 2022). Additional 4 hours of training will be held in the spring of 2023. The date, time and educational material is yet to be determined.
