OHS Committee Training

A. Committee members receive annual training. Information on these training sessions will be emailed to OHS site committees.


B. New committee members are required to complete 8 hours of training within the first 6 months on a committee. This requirement is fulfilled by completing both 1 and 2 below.

1. WorkSafe BC online e-learning component: This online course provides two of the required eight hours of training for new joint health and safety committee members.



2. Employers' Advisers Office, four online 90-minute webinars that may be completed in any order.

a. New Joint Committee Members #1 - Rules of Procedures and Meetings 

b. New Joint Committee Members #2 - Right to Refuse, Consultation, and Making Recommendations 

c. New Joint Committee Members #3 - Inspections and Investigations 

d. New Joint Committee Members #4 - Committee Evaluations and Assessing Training Needs
